..strange happens..

.. and there are certain unexplained occurrences in life.
..have told this story numerous times.. it always has a weird effect..

..once out of college, during the last years of the Vietnam War..
..I was 1A draft status.. waiting to be called to active duty (and undoubtedly head off to Indochina)..

..no corporate employers would bother with me, so a job hacking a NYC cab filled the bill during that time..
..on a day-off, was shopping in New Rochell in Westchester, not far from Iona where I had gone to school..
..I ran into someone who indicated they knew me very well from college, acting as if we had been something like best friends..
..to this day I honestly have no recollection as ever having met him previously..

..anyway, we chatted for a bit, and of course the topic came up about what was happening with me and the war..
..once he knew, he straight off said he was a member of a local Naval Reserve unit, and that his unit was looking for new recruits... and would I be interested..
..I've never had such a desire to suck a man's face before or since..

..that evening I went and signed right up.. two weeks later found myself in Norfolk, Virginia part of the 'plank-owner' pre-com crew for the USS John F Kennedy CVA-67 aircraft carrier...
..for the next year was stationed in Virginia while the ship was being made ready for sea-duty, and coming home every weekend on leave..
..then a year in the Mediterranean on the ship's maiden showboat cruise to all the NATO countries of Europe.. it was a whirlwind, and lots of good times..

..never saw that guy again after running into him on the street that fateful day.. even though this was a very small unit I had signed up with..
..it still remains one of the most surreal happenings of my life..

ps.. ..in all the years attending Iona, I never ever remember shopping in New Rochelle... (just sayin).. was a city kid, day-hoppin to college.

Should we all hate them... you better believe we should !!

What is absolutely repulsive is that they all knew and did nothing !!
..and these freakin bastards are still at it today !!

Instead of decades ago changing course, and being out in the forefront, using their enormous power and profits to research and bring us into a new and better energy world..
....greed and shortsightedness ruled, and stayed the course for ultimate planetary doom.

Exxon Knew...

...more than 45 years ago.

... and Exxon didn’t just “know” about climate change: it conducted some of the original research.

Scientists from numerous American and multinational oil companies (American Petroleum Institute (API)) were very much aware of global warming in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

..all the while continuing to hard fight against any and all regulations..

The list goes on and on.. anyone getting their head out-from, and truly wanting to know..
...just do research, all the evidence is there for any and all to see...
...but you first must abandon your denial !!

Investors may continue choosing to ignore the truth, and profit from the blood-money of these morally bankrupt and utterly ruthless companies.
Just as they did with the big tobacco companies, when they were denying and obfuscating the facts years ago.
It is just as repulsive.. no, it's really soooo much worse..

...for it will ultimately result in costing much of humanity its future !!!!

This is an ALL-OF-US-ISSUE... and is going to be the FIGHT-OF-OUR-LIVES !!

Why do we do so little when we know so much?

The film DISRUPTION looks at the consequences of our inaction... arguing this is an issue EVERYONE can and should be involved in.

This is the story of our unique moment in history. We are living through an age of tipping points, and rapid social and planetary change.
Disruption takes an unflinching look at the devastating consequences of our inaction. The exploration lays bare the terrifying science, the shattered political process, the unrelenting industry special interests, and the civic stasis that have brought us to this social, moral and ecological crossroads.

This film enlarges the issue beyond climate impacts, and makes a compelling call for bold action, that is strong enough to tip the balance to build a clean energy future.

“In the past, masses of people have taken the wheel of history and turned it. We have a responsibility to rise to our historic moment.” ... THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE !!

(watch full-screen)

,,, now it is 2017.. and the most powerful and influential country on the planet has just elected the utmost climate change denying administration possible.

...the earth has natural warming cycles... this is just one of them..

..."the earth has natural warming cycles... this is just one of them"..
..we hear this mantra over and over from climate skeptics/ deniers as justification for their beliefs..

..well.. April, 2015 was the first time in 800,000 years that CO2 levels went above 400ppm... (from what we are able to measure..see below**)

The last time the concentration of Earth's main greenhouse gas reached this mark, horses and camels lived in the high Arctic. Seas were at least 30 feet higher.. at a level that today would inundate major cities around the world.

The planet was about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius (3.6 to 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer. But the Earth then was in the final stage of a prolonged greenhouse epoch, and CO2 concentrations were on their way down. This time, 400 ppm is a milepost on a far more rapid uphill climb toward an uncertain climate future.

The last time the concentration of CO2 was as high as 400 ppm was probably in the Pliocene Epoch, between 2.6 and 5.3 million years ago. Until the 20th century, it certainly hadn't exceeded 300 ppm, let alone 400 ppm, for at least 800,000 years**.
(**That's how far back scientists have been able to measure CO2 directly in bubbles of ancient air trapped in Antarctic ice cores.)

"What everything is telling you is that the system is very sensitive. The threshold for losing the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets is very close to where we are now."

Everything in the geologic record says we're very close. You don't need a lot of CO2.. you just need a little bit of warming, and it doesn't matter how you get it."
The Earth does not care how CO2 originates.. it reacts the exact same way irregardless of origin.

And... "it took between a thousand and a few thousand years to melt all or most of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets. The whole inter-glacial lasted 30,000 years, nearly three times as long as ours has lasted so far. So the warming had a long time to build up.

We've brought up our CO2 levels from 280ppm to 400ppm in the amazingly short span of less than 200 years... THAT's ACD!! ... (Anthropogenic Climate Disruption)

At 400 ppm, CO2 is much higher now, and it's still climbing fast. And even if we could stop that rise tomorrow, the planet's temperature will still be climbing for (many decades, if not) centuries.
"For [us] personally that's the scary thing.. we really don't know what we've already committed ourselves to."... and we're still making it very much worse.

Why do climate deniers have such an impossible time accepting what 97% of all scientists have agreed upon?

The facts are undeniable. Sea levels and global temperatures are rising (year after year is the hottest on record), glaciers are melting, and ice sheets are shrinking at unprecedented rates. CO2 levels have also shot up dramatically since the Industrial Revolution.

How is it possible to deny this overwhelming evidence that global warming is real and humans contribute to it?

For starters, many leaders and fossil fuel corporations.. (as well as their investors).. have a strong financial incentive to ignore (and obfuscate) facts.
But there are many other subtle reasons why people might turn a blind eye to research.

They seek out information that confirms their beliefs.. and ignore anything that challenges them.
At the core of climate change denial is the brain’s confirmation bias.. a natural tendency to seek and interpret facts in a way that confirms our pre-existing beliefs.
“Nobody wants to be wrong, and that elicits confirmation bias, which is when we seek out information that confirms that we believe to be true.” We believe what we choose and want to believe.

They don’t trust scientists, and listen instead to high-profile skeptics.
Add to this equation a distrust of experts and scientists (a psychological phenomenon known as “discredence”), and you’ve got a recipe for denial.

Climate change denial hit a six-year high in 2014, with 23% of Americans saying they do not believe in global warming, and 53% saying they do not believe global warming is human-caused.
This is likely due, in large part, to the influence of high-profile climate skeptics.

“Social scientists have documented that the public follows ‘elite cues’ when forming opinions on topics, especially those for which they don’t have a lot of information. So when Republican politicians and pundits, whose voices are amplified by conservative media figures, deny climate change, this readily filters down to party activists and eventually many lay Republicans.”

“A single exposure to a denial message significantly reduces subjects’ belief in and concern about climate change.. when issues become more politically polarized, there’s a greater gap between scientists and public opinion."

“In order to be in denial, we kind of need others to participate. So we need to recognize so much of what we’re looking at is a social process, not an individual issue.”
It’s easy for people to expose themselves only to beliefs that reinforce their own through media exposure and their own social networks, which may reinforce their views while shielding them from dissenters. This is also known as the “echo chamber” effect.

“The conservative echo chamber.. Fox News, talk radio, conservative columnists and bloggers.. combine to create a ‘bubble’ in which many committed Republicans live, and when it comes to scientific issues we find that they literally create an ‘alternative reality’ in which human-caused climate change is a hoax. The problem is that this conservative worldview is deeply at odds with empirical reality.”

So does the science suggest any ways of combating denial?
Experts agree the best step forward may be to rally those who do understand the issue around potential solutions. After all, the debate has never really been about the science.

“It would be far more productive for all of us if we would have a national discussion about these differing belief systems, identifying where we disagree but, more importantly, identifying where we agree, and then try to govern in ways that effectively solve the problems we collectively face.”

The planet continues to heat up VERY fast.. the longer we wait to begin holding the line on increasing CO2 levels in our atmosphere.. the worse climate effects will still  keep coming.

... our future...

Additional Note: ... as for those who unequivocally 'despise' the fossil fuel giants for the part they're playing in the ultimate destruction of most all existing life on the planet.. what must be said is we need lots more like them, waking up and getting on board.. feeling the exact same way.

Exxon Knew (do a search... they ALL did !!) about Climate Change almost 40 years ago.

All the fuel companies know fully what they're doing, and the havoc they are wreaking on the planet... AND THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN !!.. PROFITS-GREED RULE!!

They should all be prosecuted for the greatest of crimes ever committed against humanity. But like Wall Street 'Masters-of-the-Universe,' little is being done, or likely will be done.. especially with the fossil-fuel loving cabal presently holding office.. (hell.. they ARE them!!).

And should their day of reckoning very soon not come.. only 'The Almighty' will then be able to save us.

..."There was fear in the room when they took on another demagogue."

"His primary achievement has been in confusing the public mind, as between the internal and the external threats of [Immigration & Terrorism]. We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men – not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular.

This is no time for men who oppose [Trump's] methods to keep silent, or for those who approve. We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result. There is no way for a citizen of a republic to abdicate his responsibilities. As a nation we have come into our full inheritance at a tender age. We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home.

The actions of the [President] have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad, and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn’t create this situation of fear; he merely exploited it – and rather successfully. Cassius was right. “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

..three small changes above [in brackets]... all the other words are the same, and their ultimate meaning still holds true over a half century later..

..we are in very serious trouble, lest we act quickly to correct the enormous blunder we've made..

..'do you know what you don't know'...

...9 of 10 people don't have money in the market.. so they don't pay much attention..
..ask most what is a 'derivative' and they would likely not be able to answer you..
..(as they're the most complicated financial instrument ever devised.. and that's by design)..
..but without a doubt ALL of us will be dramatically impacted when the enormous 'correction' happens..

.."..institutions get out of control, and society can be disrupted in a very major way"..
.Warren Buffett on Derivatives..Derivatives still a ticking time bomb! Sept 2011

..if there is a simpler explanation of derivatives...most don't have one.. don't know if anyone ever could....but without doubt their hold over the planet is incredulous..

..and for all the banks involved they are an 'Unregulated Bank Casino'

..sage advice..be knowledgeable where your assets reside.....

                                  Banks Ranked by Derivatives

..and you're seeing correctly... that 1st number is 52 TRILLION !!! ..
...annual GDP of the entire world economy is approx 75 Trillion...
...and there are over 1400 banks after that with varying levels of huge derivative exposure

..it's been reported on.. but seeing as only a small portion of individuals are actually in the market, it's not really of major interest to them,,, but it SHOULD be !!...
                                 PBS Frontline 2009 The Warning
..(Brooksley is smart, super courageous, and should be known to all as a hero on the side of what made sense and was right for everyone.. instead she was vilified by the powers that be, and her voice was forced out.. and the much needed regulatory reform has never been enacted)..

..the derivatives market is, in a word, GIGANTIC..and rules the financial world..
...often estimated at more than $1.5 quadrillion worldwide.
...that's 1.5 and a huge number of zeros following.. $1,500,000,000,000,000...
...  the largest Ponzi scheme the universe will probably ever experience..and it's still growing...there's no way taxpayers anywhere can fund a bailout of a sizable portion of that large an amount !!
"Financial deregulation turned Wall Street into a casino with no rules except unrestrained greed and profit taking... catastrophic failure inevitably awaits... it’s just a matter of time."

.in a huge crash, banks with large derivatives exposure are going to suffer very badly, if not fail altogether..
..and there's NO WAY the FDIC will be able bail out all accounts involved in such a debacle
..U.S. exposure totals near 300 Trillion Dollars..even fractions are enormous sums, not capable of being recovered.

...to believe this frenzy can go on indefinitely is irrational.. dark markets by their nature must come to an end, as they exist in secrecy for the purposes of those creating and managing them.. there would be no rationale for keeping such secrecy unless there is much to hide.. when few if any understand a product, why should that not be cause for serious skepticism

..there is no one that know what will trigger it, or when the crash will occur.. but with all the incoming administrations picks to run government, a...  'Corporate Cabinet'  /  Cabal

the current situation is only going to continue on, and get more tangled, and the risks exponentially are going to increase..

..watch the videos in full and read the articles.. totally scary to digest.. and it's our future...
..we always have a say in the matter .. but for sure right now the .01% have all anyone should possibly ever want..  yet they're still unsatisfied, and are vehemently demanding even more.

Note: ..if you want to know a bank's derivative position.. go to USBankLocations.com ..enter then select the bank.. then 'Find A Bank'.. then in the left column click on 'More Information'.. then scroll down and click on 'Derivatives' .. compare it to their asset size and equity.. for many banks it's way too much risk.

... "get over it"... REALLY?!

As some of you might know, it's been quite some time since I last blog-posted. And I hadn't actually thought about it until the final election results were in. But I still wasn't sure I was going to do anything, until I started coming across comments on Facebook and Twitter.. the likes of... "you lost.. get over it.. just deal-with it... and.. you've gotta give him time."

And I started thinking... REALLY?!... time for what???

  • - to keep avidly denying over and over ACD even exists.. that it is all a liberal hoax..all the while as climate disruption has already altered nearly every single ecosystem on earth
  • - to keep his promise to roll back most all environmental protection regulations fought for and enacted over the past decade (in order to help 'protect' business).. his choice of Myron Ebell to lead the 'transition' of the EPA is an absolute disaster for the agency and the environment .. (the article by David Hunter is almost two decades old and things have only gotten so much worse.. we need MORE regulation and better enforcement.. NOT less)
  • - to keep another promise.. to prevent the US from signing the Paris climate accord (weak as it may be, it's at least something.. a start)
  • - to cut funding for and eliminate clean energy solutions (again to protect business. fossil fuels in particular)
  • - to keep supporting the subsidy and use of fossil fuels (to the detriment of the ENTIRE planet)
  • - to appoint Supreme Court Justices that will not support the rollback of Citizens United... (one of the most damaging split-court rulings of all time)
  • - to bring in some of the worst group of individuals imaginable to be part of his Cabinet (to assist him in ruining the country)
  • - to dramatically alter or possibly kill Obamacare .. throwing tens of millions of people off their healthcare plans
  • - to dismantle and weaken the CFPB ... Warrens Consumer Protection Agency
  • - to continue with proposals such as 'bombing the shit out of ISIS' and perhaps putting boots on the ground in Syria. Policies most intelligence officials say, will undermine U.S. counter-terrorism efforts around the world.
  • - to keep supporting income inequality by support of oligarchs and the uber-wealthy
  • - to put off revamping our unfair tax codes that now favor the wealthy at the expense of everyone else
  • - to continue his tough-on-crime, law-and-order stance.. keeping inmates confined even for what are minor offenses..(of which the Prison-Industrial-Complex is most supportive)
  • - to keep on track (as the GOP has been fighting hard for) to revamp and gut social security, as well as many other much needed (now more than ever) social programs.. which are forcing many to go 'warfare' in order to sustain themselves and their families
  • - to keep the rhetoric up about how dangerous Iran is to world peace, with their nuclear weapons threat.. (what BS.. Iran wants a no-nuke treaty with all countries in the region, and we all know why that's not going to happen anytime soon)
  • - and to keep up his racist beliefs and rhetoric regarding his fixation on  immigration.."They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.".. and his aspirations beyond deporting as many as 11 million undocumented US residents... building a wall along the southern border... and barring Muslims from entering the country.

Trade agreements... health care... gun control... foreign policy... education... drugs/ crime... civil rights... abortion (fearful what he'll mean for women’s reproductive rights)...
...the list goes on and on.. ask anyone outside the upper-upper income brackets what they think of most all of his policies, and a majority are at the opposite end of the spectrum. Unless they are just so misinformed they don't know any better (easily possible with our miserable, money-bought fourth estate today)..
..OR.. they just don't G-A-S!! ...(and there's an unbelievably large number of these  when you consider nearly half the number of eligible voters didn't bother to vote.. which means only 1 out of 4 actually selected him (many voting 'against' her).. same for Clinton).

We still have all the same crisis that we had facing us before the election.. but the job of tackling them has been made all that much more difficult. It's not impossible, but the most severe problem remains.. do we have TIME!!

As each year passes and nothing or little gets accomplished we are potentially sacrificing everything, and the possibility of getting much or any of it back becomes ever more remote.

There is one number above all others to keep in mind .. when I first understood what it truly meant, and began watching it regularly, it was around 385.. (and it was really not that long ago). It now stands above 400.. and will be there (and higher) through the lives of anyone living today.

And the truly scary part is that all knowledgeable individuals are in agreement..
... the safe number should be no higher than 350... (and we are WELL above!!)

It's shown on the blog homepage.. here it is again..>>>  co2.earth

And please don't take my word alone for any of this.. do your own research..

...guarantee you'll come to a similar conclusion.

By far this was the worst choice this country could have made..
...when you consider we're now facing 400+ppm for the remainder of all our lifetimes.

But what can we now do.. should we give up... NO F---IN WAY!!
There's no Planet B to escape to before we run out of time.

As many have said... "...we have to get more involved. We do what we can to fight injustice anywhere we see it.. and whether it’s writing a check or rolling up our sleeves (and climbing up the backs and getting in the ear(s) of our elected representatives).  We fight for families that aren’t as fortunate as we are. We fight for a woman to keep her right to choose. We fight for the First Amendment and we fight mostly for equality.. not for a guarantee of equal outcomes but for equal opportunities. We stand up.

Many don’t believe he can make it a year without committing an impeachable crime (his maniacal personality does readily lend itself to the possibility) . But it's most likely not going to happen cause the GOP controls government, and he's more than likely going to be giving them most of everything they would be wanting. so they're not going to be kicking him out anytime soon. If he does manage without breaking the law for four years, we’ll all make it through those same four years. And three years from now we’ll begin our fight like hell for our candidate(s).. and we’ll win and they’ll lose... and this time they’ll lose for good.

The battle isn’t over, it’s just begun. We must not hand over to future generations a country shaped by hateful and bigoted men."

Ask anyone you know.. what are derivatives?.. and what makes them so important in today's world.

A derivative, put simply, is a contract between two parties whose value is determined by changes in the value of an underlying asset. Those assets could be bonds, equities, commodities or currencies. The majority of contracts are traded over the counter, where details about pricing, risk measurement and collateral, if any, are not available to the public.

In other words, a derivative does not have any intrinsic value. It is essentially a side bet. Most commonly, derivative contracts have to do with the movement of interest rates. But there are many, many other kinds of derivatives as well. People are betting on just about anything and everything that you can imagine
(they even now have weather derivatives), and Wall Street has now been transformed into the largest casino in the history of the planet

Never before in the history of the United States have we been faced with the threat of such a great financial catastrophe. Sadly, most Americans are totally oblivious to all of this. They just have faith that our leaders know what they are doing, and they have been lulled into complacency by the bubble of false stability that we have been enjoying for the last couple of years. Unfortunately for them, this bubble of false stability is not going to last much longer. A financial crisis far greater than what we experienced in 2008 is coming, and it is going to shock the world.

THIS IS AN ENORMOUS MARKET.. NOBODY EVEN KNOWS ACTUALLY HOW HUGE IT REALLY IS, BECAUSE IT IS SO SECRET !!
ESTIMATES RANGE ANYWHERE FROM $700 TRILLION.. TO AS MUCH AS $1.5 QUADRILLION DOLLARS !!
AND NO ONE HAS ABSOLUTELY ANY IDEA AT ALL WHAT THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY BE WORTH AT ANY TIME... THE LARGEST PONZI SCHEME THE UNIVERSE HAS EVER SEEN !!!

Climate Disruption's New Record: Carbon Dioxide Levels Reach Highest Point in 15 Million Years

Climate Disruption's New Record: Carbon Dioxide Levels Reach Highest Point in 15 Million Years

405.66 ..HOLY-CRAP !!!!!

... as the old saying goes.. 'records are made to be broken'.. well every person on the entire planet should be wantin for this one to STOP being broken !!

...I first started keeping serious track of CO2 levels in 2005 when they were in the upper 370 range..
..and reportedly 350 is the 'safe' level... and when we're approaching 450.. it'll be GAME-OVER !!!

.. now in a decade I've watched to go up almost 30 points (and it's accelerating)..
..so you don't have to be Einstein to deduce we're heading towards Armageddon outrageously fast !!

..so these guys that control-the-world better come up with a plan mucho-pronto.. like collectively put up a BILLION dollar (or more) reward/ prize money for any of the worlds brilliant genius minds (they're out there), to make carbon-capture an ASAP reality (like freakin tomorrow !!)..

...cause SAS, we ain't gettin it done by reducing our fossil fuel addiction...

BS.. note SERIOUSLY is the only guy of that other sad-sack POTUS wanna-be cabal taking this whole crisis SERIOUSLY !!!

."...the Arctic today is not in equilibrium with the greenhouse gas settings, meaning that we have to expect significant increases in [Arctic] temperature and precipitation even if the level of greenhouse gases keeps at a constant"  ... which it WAY isn't !!

..."Earth's systems are kind of sluggish beasts. It takes a while for the oceans and atmosphere to respond to this rapid rise in carbon dioxide"

...YEA...like several decades !!..
...what we're experiencing today is a result of CO2 levels from back in the '70's..
..we won't know what 405.66 in reality looks like until 2050 or 2060...

..and what will the world's devastating CO2 levels be by then !!   (these charts are terrifying)

... this June while in Norway.. we'll be fairly close to this lake, but probably will not get the chance to visit.. (Kristiansund is one of our port stops)

Ice bubbles in Selbusjø, a lake in Norway
When lake water freezes quickly, it can trap bubbles below the surface. These bubbles, in Selbusjø, a lake in central Norway, were likely formed from methane. Decaying organic matter at the bottom of the lake is eaten by bacteria, which in turn pump out methane gas. If conditions are right, the methane bubbles are captured as the water freezes around them.

Looks pretty this image.. but methane being released in enormous quantities world over is a HUGE issue affecting our ultimate survival.

"... alarming news .. Arctic permafrost holds 30% or more of all the carbon stored in soils worldwide. In reality, the Arctic sea ice is continuing to retreat at a rapid pace...
...the East Siberian Arctic Shelf as a key reservoir of Arctic methane  encompassing more than 2 million square kilometers of seafloor in the Arctic Ocean... and is more than three times as large as the nearby Siberian wetlands that was previously considered the primary Northern Hemisphere source of atmospheric methane...
the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic Shelf, long thought to be an impermeable barrier sealing in methane, is perforated and starting to leak large amounts of methane into the atmosphere...
..he current average methane concentrations in the Arctic is about 1.85 parts per million, the highest in 400,000 years.”

..it's important you read the full article.. we are in a very precarious point in history.. what we don't do now will have extremely harsh consequences in our very immediate future..

Generation Sanders
by Robert Kuttner
The millennial generation has gotten the worst economic screwing since the generation that came of age in the Great Depression. This is the first American generation ever to begin economic life deeply in debt. And this generation also faces a job market in which regularized employment is disappearing in favor of short- term gigs. Sanders much more than Clinton has been challenging an economy of, by, and for the rich—one that stunts the dreams of the young. At the heart of the skewed economy is the Wall Street domination of the rules of the game, and Sanders is the one willing to name that reality and call for its demolition.

The Iowa Winnow.. And Why Bernie Sanders is for Real
by Robert Borosage
Sanders is providing the first clear, forceful, populist message and agenda that voters have heard, focused on how our corrupted politics and rigged economy keep us from building a decent, vibrant country of opportunity – where health care is a right, college is free, workers are empowered, big money is curbed, and the rich and powerful pay their fair share. He’s begun to educate a generation — and to transform the activist base of the party.
