Our insatiable demand is wreaking havoc on the planet—and our climate
..equivalent of 300 football fields of rainforest is destroyed every hour to make way for palm oil plantations
..decimating the habitat of endangered species like orangutans and Sumatran tigers, displaced indigenous communities, contributed to a regional smog problem linked to tens of thousands of premature deaths & is a significant driver of climate change.
.. this Christmas advert has been banned from TV for being too political.. .. what's happening to our rain forests should be banned for being criminal to life on earth..!!
..companies cannot be trusted to police themselves (shocking..!!)
..deforestation continues, threatened species still being put at risk..
..and there’s also evidence labor abuse including child labor & forced labor are still commonplace across Malaysian & Indonesian plantations

..rainforests originated sometime after 100 million years ago.. they were the dominant forest type at the time of the disappearance of the dinosaurs (65 million years ago)...they represent the world’s oldest extant biome...
..we have absolutely NO idea what precious resources we are destroying forever... and for what..!!! ... an array of consumer products..
..can we get these companies to act responsibly..
..should big changes not happen over the next decade.. it is an enormous challenge..!!
