HealthDay - Overworked Nurses

Anyone having friends or relatives in the nursing profession know first-hand how taxing the work is both mentally and physically... the toll it takes can be very high.

The question-post below sums up the sentiments of many in the profession.

Over worked ER Nurses

I could have swore I read somewhere that ENA recommends no more than three 12 hour shifts as an ER Nurse. Has anyone else heard or read this? And if you have, can you give a reference?

Our ER currently has us working four 12 hour shifts a week. Sometimes two days off and then scheduling another 12 hour shift.

I am getting old and tired fast.
